Project “Walk in Our Shoes – Inclusive City Adventure” Tour of Poznań

We invite you to watch the recap of yesterday’s tour of Poznań, in which our international partners participated: representatives from People First – HU from Hungary and the European Youth Centre Břeclav from the Czech Republic.

A walk around Poznan as part of the project “Walk in Our Shoes – Inclusive city adventure” financed by the International Visegrad Fund.
26.06 this year a “test” walk around Poznan venture took place as part of the “Walk in Our Shoes – Inclusive city adventure” project. For the first time, the invited participants walked the route of the tour, testing it in terms of accessibility and adapting to their needs.
And very soon, in dn. July 15 – 17 no. there will be a study visit of our Partners from the organization People First – HU from Hungary and European Youth Centre Břeclav from Czech Republic in Poznan of, as part of which the walk we prepared will have its “official” premiere.
But in September this year. at a remote conference summarizing the Project we will present m. in. methodology of planning trips accessible to people with disabilities. Based on it, our participants will be able to plan and realize short and further trips, together with the support of personal assistants.

📣 Yesterday, another meeting was held as part of the “Walk in Our Shoes – Inclusive city adventure” project financed by the International Visegrad Fund.📣
🎯At the meeting with our partners: People First – HU from Hungary 🇭🇺 and European Youth Center Břeclav from the Czech Republic 🇨🇿 we discussed, among others: the issue of the online platform that will be the product of our project. A representative of our Foundation presented the plan of a study visit to Poznań, which will take place on July 15 – 17 this year. Together we discussed the progress of work and the further schedule of activities, including the conference summarizing the project.
🎯At the above-mentioned conference, which will take place remotely in September this year. we will present, among others: methodology for planning trips accessible to people with disabilities. Based on it, our participants will be able to plan and carry out short and long journeys with the support of personal assistants.

The Czech experts are busy at work preparing the third and last part of this incredible long-term Visegrad funded project in beautiful Vrchlabí, Czech Republic.

The team is cooperating with local stakeholders (management of local historical sights, the mayor of Vrchlabí, leaders of local organisations) in order to prepare the best Hidden City Tour in our beautiful historical town at the foot of stunning Giant Mountains.

“We are still working on improving our city-walk. Monika has joined the
project team! We are very excited to start this collaboration.

Monika is active in supporting people with disabilities and has a lot of
experience in guiding groups. Participating in our project will allow
her to strengthen her competences.

We are actively preparing for the Pécs visit. Together we are
familiarising ourselves with materials and analysing best practices in
order to be able to participate sufficiently in the visit.

We can’t wait :)”

The first version of the common Platform, which presents the project, the International Visegrad Fund and international best practices has been prepared. It also acts as a discussion forum for partners. The Polish and Czech teams will add their ideas to the website developed by the Hungarian partner, and then the joint work on the Platform can start. We plan to make it public and open to all interested parties after the project closes.

The Polish team is almost complete with its own sensitising city walk, but the Czech team has also been formed and is developing contacts with the city government.

We will meet in Pécs in May to present the Hidden City Tor-Tour as a best practice of the Hungarian People First Association. We also agreed on the details of this in the March online meeting.

News from Poland:
The Polish team Fundacja Sowelo started developing our own version of a sensitizing city tour. Our experts designed the route and evaluated the accessibility of the various attractions. Now the tour is in the testing phase.
We are excited about the possibilities and ideas that arise as we work together on the project.
